An 84-year-old great-grandfather in California has been named the World’s Oldest Male Bodybuilder.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Jim Arrington earned the title after competing in 62 competitions throughout his 70 years of bodybuilding. Of those competitions, Arrington has won 16.
“I started bodybuilding when I was 15 years old, and that was in 1947,” Arrington says. “Now it’s about all I really aim for, just to be the world’s oldest bodybuilder, and to be recognized by Guinness World Records.” In addition to weight training, Arrington tries to stick to a high protein, moderate carbohydrate and fat meal regimen to stay lean.
Gee, I guess there really is no excuse for skipping the gym now!
